Chef Edouard believes that good, thoughtful food creates community. He believes that food is a universal language that brings people together and creating a common ground.
Born in Lebanon, Edouard is heavily influenced by the flavors of the Middle East. He spent hours in the kitchen with his grandmother learning the family secrets to traditional Lebanese comfort food.
After his family immigrated to the United States, Edouard was unable to find the same ingredients stateside. He began experimenting with techniques in order to recreate the flavors of Lebanese and Greek cuisine, eventually leading to his own Cooking Club and cooking show: Cooking with Edy.
His hobby became a passion when he began traveling. He couldn't speak the language in Germany, Spain, Italy, China, but what he discovered was that good food transcends language barriers.
Chef Edouard Massih graduated from The Culinary Institute of America with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts, and earned his level one certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. His work journey started in Orvieto, Italy as a line cook at Zeppelin Ristorante, after which he became a freelance event chef for The Farmer’s Wife, located in the Hudson Valley. While attending the CIA, he worked at Blantyre, a Relais & Châteaux property, as an assistant wine director. He later moved to New York City to work for Danny Meyer’s North End Grill, and intern at Wine and Spirits magazine. eventually transitioning into an event assistant. He currently owns his own catering and event planning company.
